Summer Home Maintenance Checklist

Summer has set and the sun is glaring at its peak. You might have to think twice before stepping out in the open. The best way to beat the heat is to stay indoors. But before doing that it is handy to do a quick summer home maintenance checklist. This will keep your home healthy and summers enjoying. Mentioned below are some simple yet important summer home maintenance checklist.

1. Exterior Paint:

The exterior of your house gets the maximum exposure to all the sunlight and heat. Going for a quick coat of heat and UV reflecting paint which will lower the temperature of the building. A light coloured shade will give a fresher look to your building as well.

2. Cooling Units:

Air conditioners and fans are probably your best friends during summer. Before the onset of summers, make a quick service check of all fans and air conditioners at home. Use a damp cloth to clean all the fans in the house including those used for ventilation. Change the filters and service all air conditioners for smooth operation during the summers.

3. Refrigeration:

Your refrigerator becomes an integral part of your house storing all juices, shakes, ice-creams and chilled water. While deciding your summer to-do list, cleaning and servicing your refrigerator should be on the top of the list. Cleaning the coils, filter, and refueling the gas are basic yet effective tips.

4. Bathroom:

Nothing beats a cold shower in hot summer month but showerheads often get blocked due to mineral deposits. To avoid this, unscrew the showerhead and soak it in vinegar for few hours, it will get cleaned.

5. Indoor Plants:

Plants work as natural air purifiers and coolers. Placing plants indoor not only purifies but also cools the air inside the house. Trim dried leaves from the plants kept inside and dead plants from your garden.

So, if youe looking to get ready for summers then don forget to do a checklist of the above maintenance tips.
